A British still life and documentary photographer living near Sydney…

I've been fortunate enough to have enjoyed working on many great collaborations in the names of art and commerce, but there's still so much more I'd like to do. I enjoy solving creative problems, from lighting to composition to portraying emotion in inanimate and animate things.

I am so aware of the changing times. I haven’t chosen the easiest industry to make my way in, given the changing technology and increasing accessibility of photography to all. But this is just one further creative challenge – how to keep image-making vibrant, high quality, and provide for the needs of the modern client without undermining it as an art. Challenging times, but also interesting ones. It requires flexibility and an open spirit.

My clients include – ARA, Casio, Certitude, Children In Crisis, Crows Nest, Daisy Jewellery, Dior, Fight For Peace, Gucci, Haagen Dazs, Hemmingford Grey, Jameson, Jeans West, Luta, Nike, Patagonia, Pretty Green, P&G, Revelation!, Rimmel, Stephen Webster, Taylor Morris & Ted Baker.

Away from my commercial work, I have been lucky enough to shoot for, & witness the tireless efforts of some amazing charities. I spent 2 years travelling from east London, to Rio's favelas, & the Bronx, photographing youth affected by gang violence for Fight For Peace. My collaborative project, Secret Pencils (exhibits to date in London, Manchester, Amsterdam & Tokyo), has formed a strong bond with the charity Children in Crisis, with whom I visited DR Congo in 2016. In 2018 I created images for two solo exhibitions with London based charity Certitude, who support adults with mental health needs & learning difficulties.

Publications include – Conde Nast Traveller, Fiera, Luel, The Financial Times’ How To Spend It, Granta, The Hunger, LFI Magazine, Leica S Mag, Metro & The Telegraph Magazine.

Secret Pencils – the bookwas released by Laurence King Publishing at the end of 2017.
